Click track in Pro Tools 7

The advent of being able to quickly create a Click track in Pro Tools 7 has been a big help, but the Click plug-in in and of itself is very limited. Besides there being very few sounds, almost all of them have an "accent" on the first beat of every measure. One of the things I touch on in the January installment of my series in Recording Magazine is how to take advantage of the Click assignment options in Pro Tools.

By double clicking on the metronome icon in the transport, you can quickly pull up several options which will allow you to assign the Click to a plug-in (like Xpand!) or outboard sound module. Give it a try, musicians will thank you for it.
