As a songwriter, one of the biggest challenges can be the lack of a Drummer. Luckily for us, the modern world is full of options to help us overcome our drum deficiencies. Let's take a look at tools you can use to get your Groove flowing. From Loops to Plug-Ins, songwriters have more options than ever before.
As most engineers and producers know, the best start to a good mix is a proper recording. While we cannot always control this aspect of the process, the Clip Gain feature allows you to adjust the audio levels prior to beginning the mix.
With the Holiday Season fully upon us, Avid has released their own gift, Pro Tools 12.4. Finally introducing to Pro Tools the most requested feature by users, Track Freeze allows users the ability to "lock-in" the processing on a track so as to free up resources. Furthermore, it also allows users to "UnFreeze" a track if edits are needed down the road.
Avid has recently released the latest update for Pro Tools, 12.3.1. This update has several bug-fixes to the Audio Engine, Video Engine, as well as various updates to Pro Tools functionality that include:
- "Commit Up to This Insert" no longer fails to trigger the Auxiliary Output Stems dialog. Using this feature on a track hosting an assigned multi-output plug-in will now cause all dependent tracks to be committed up to the same insert
Avid recently released one of the most exciting iPad apps ever, and it free! PT|Control is downloadable from the App Store for iPad only (no iPhone).
