With the release of Pro Tools 2024.10 in Nov 2024, Avid has introduced a host of new features to the Pro Tools software. Among these additions is MIDI Playlist editing – one of Pro Tools users’ most requested features! MIDI Playlists allow users to record, compare, and seamlessly comp MIDI performances from multiple takes.

Grammy-Award Winning Mixing engineer, Rick Clifford, obtained the prestigious AVID Pro Tools Dolby Atmos Mixing Certification at ProMedia Training. Rick was the former chief engineer of Death Row and mixed some of the most iconic Hip-Hop Artists of all time, including multi-platinum albums for Tupac, Dr Dre, the Jackson family, and over 100 major label artists.

Rick Clifford has been an established mixing engineer at major facilities for 40 years. He won a Grammy for "I Will Survive," the classic disco record that will retain its place in history as an all-time classic.

He stands up to his belief that you must stay on top of audio engineering technology in the music industry. Known for mixing Dr. Drey's and Tupac's biggest selling records, Rick has a strong perspective stating that professional audio engineers need continued education to not become obsolete and "fall behind."

Working recently in the studio with  9-Times Grammy Winning, Mick Guzouski, Rick explains his position of why he chose to take official Avid Dolby Atmos Mixing Certification.

The stakes are high when working with major label artists. There are NO room for errors. Rick attended ProMedia Training's 3-week Dolby Atmos Mixing course which comes with several additional months of mentorship and reviews. New Features in Pro Tools 2024.6 

The recent release of Pro Tools 2024.6 software brings a bunch of new features for Music, Post, and Dolby Production. The ever expanding ARA 2 now supports working directly in the timeline with iZotope RX Spectral Editor, Syncro Arts VocAlign, RePitch, and ReVoice Pro, as well as Sound Radix Auto-Align 2, and Auto-Align Post 2.
