After a successful Songwriting career, Nancy founded Washington Street Publishing in 2006, and it has grown into one of the most respected independent music publishing companies in Nashville. One of the first Music Publishers to move into Sync Licensing, they now represent a cutting edge, multi-genre catalog for Music, Film, TV, Advertising, and Video Games. Having been a songwriter herself, Nancy is always eager to help independent songwriters on their journey.
Nancy is a frequent panelist and song evaluator for various organizations and conferences including Durango Expo, West Coast Songwriter’s Conference, ASCAP Expo, Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival, Global Songwriters Connection Focus Event. A graduate of Sweet Briar College and Vanderbilt University, Nancy has a BA in applied classical music and an MA in history. Having grown up in Nashville, Nancy wound up in Atlanta for many years working as a songwriter working with LaFace Records and many others. Her songwriting career eventually led her back to Nashville where she founded Washington Street Publishing.
