Avid recently introduced 2 new Pro Tools HDX Thunderbolt 3 Expansion Chassis options available as a desktop or rackmount unit. These new options also come preconfigured as a bundle including Pro Tools software and audio interface.
With the ever expanding capabilities of todays computers, as well as the incredible speed and flexibility of Thunderbolt, Avid has introduced new PCIe expansion chassis for Pro Tools HDX. Users can pick between a desktop version, or a rackmount version of the chassis, as well as pick up pre-configured HDX bundles that include everything you need to get started.
Developed in partnership with Sonnet Technologies, these new Thunderbolt 3 chassis give you the flexibility to design you own custom studio configuration right out of the box. There are 2 different options available: a desktop chassis, or a rackmount chassis. The rackmount version also give you the ability to mount your Mac Mini in the rack, as well as the HDX card.
These new chassis offerings will be available as standalone purchases, or as part of a bundle that includes Pro Tools Ultimate, an HDX card, HD Audio Interface, as well as the chassis. The pricing on these new units will start at $499 for the desktop chassis, and $699 for the rackmount chassis. Pricing for the bundles starts at $7999, and $9999.
