PRO TOOLS USER CERTIFICATION - To gain the title of Avid Certified User for Pro Tools, you must take two courses,Pro Tools PT101 andPro Tools PT110, before sitting and passing the associated User Certification exams. II. Avid Certified Operator in Music: (6-Day Course)
PRO TOOLS OPERATOR CERTIFICATION IN MUSIC- To gain the title of Avid Certified Operator for Pro Tools, you must take two courses, Pro Tools PT201 and Pro Tools PT210M, before sitting and passing the associated Operator certification exams. ProMedia Training, an Avid (ALP) “Avid Learning Professional” will guide you through this advanced training in Pro Tools. These two courses prepare you for the Exams in Operator Pro Tools (Music), and are taught in Pro Tools HD.
We also provide lessons, exercises, practice exams, and class review audits to give our students long term educational support, and access to instructors for questions and scheduled assistance. In PT201, learn more advanced functions in music-from tracking and editing, through mixing and mastering; learn how to incorporate and use external hardware processors, hardware routing, console integration, and patchbay usage. Furthermore, you will learn about the various configurations and hardware connections utilized by Pro Tools HD such as Sync, Digital Audio (AES/EBU, SPDIF), Dante Network Audio, Avid S6, Icon Worksurface connections, and much, much more. How do I become an Avid Certified User for Pro Tools?
Firstly attend the two courses in our Live-Online Instructor Led, Small group Classes ( or in person if permitted).
To certify you must complete each course, including course projects/exercises, at an official Avid Learning Partner, then pass each course completion exam.
What is I need more time to Practice and Study for my Exams?
ProMedia Training allows students to attend free class review sessions with a live Avid Instructor, and free live- class audits for 12 months after completing their training. We encourage all students to practice with our provided sessions and exercises and give them access to instructors and scheduled assistance for an ongoing 12 month basis.
What if I already know how to edit & mix in another application and just need to learn Pro Tools?
The certification courses are designed for all engineers, producers, or anyone involved in the creation and delivery of digital audio. ProMedia Training teaches each course in short 2 to 3 day intensive classes.
Can I refer to study materials during the exam?
No. Students are not allowed to reference any documentation or study materials during the exam.
What is the format of the exam?
The exam is comprised of 50 questions with 60 minutes allotted to complete. Test items are presented in the following formats:
Multiple Choice: Select the single option that best answers the question
Illustration Review: Refer to the illustration prior to answering the multiple choice question
Illustration Response: Select the single image that best answers the question
What happens if I take the exam and do not pass?
Exam results are shown immediately when an exam is completed and submitted for evaluation. Unless a candidate is banned from retaking the exams for reasons of fraud or rule violations, the following retake policy applies:
If a student does not pass an exam, the candidate may retake the exam after 24 hours have passed
Once a student has passed an exam, it may not be taken again for that version of the Avid product
What will I receive if I successfully pass the exam?
Along with pride and confidence of becoming an Avid Certified User for Pro Tools you will receive:
Official certificate available for printing or download, proving your Avid Certified User status
Downloadable Logos, for use in your resume, business marketing materials such as business cards and websites
Your Pro Tools certification does not expire. You become certified for a particular version of Pro Tools software.
