With enhancements for MIDI, Audio Editing, and Dolby Atmos support, this latest version of Pro Tools brings more power to an already robust environment. What's New In Pro Tools 2020.11
Dark Theme
The most obvious change to Pro Tools 2020.11 is the new Dark Theme. With updated graphics that make for easier viewing in low-light situation, mood studios, or late night sessions, Dark Theme is a completely new look for Pro Tools. As to be expected, you can switch back to the "Legacy" view if you prefer. There is now a Preference that can be set to your liking. We've found a few things to note in our testing with this new version. Dark Theme is visually easier in LOW LIGHT situations, such as a darkened studio, or late night. However, it can be quite frustrating if you work in a well lit studio environment. Not all of us work in a dungeon. Legacy Theme is much easier on the eyes in brightly lit situation. Again, these are just our observations, try for yourself to see which Theme works best for you. Expect to see different "Themes" as we progress into 2021
Melodyne Essential
The most overlooked Pro Tools 2020.11 addition is the bundling of Melodyne with your Pro Tools subscription. Starting in October, 2020, Avid now includes a free copy of Melodyne Essential with Pro Tools. You get your authorization code in your avid.com account, then download and install Melodyne from the celemony website.
Once you select "Claim your free gifts now!" you will be given Authorization Codes for Melodyne
Audio To MIDI
Now that you have Melodyne as part of Pro Tools, you can use our favorite new feature: Convert Audio To MIDI
You can you have Pro Tools analyze an audio file and create a MIDI perfomance! The feature allows you to use it as a Track based function, on a Clip by Clip basis, or even by Copy and Paste. Watch the video below to get a taste of the possibilities.
Space Clips
With a single command you can now apply the same distance between clips on a track. This is great for anybody that imports tons of clips such as in Game Design, or Post Production. Save the time wasted by having to manually move all the clips by hand.
Export Dolby Atmos ADM Files
New to Pro Tools Ultimate is the ability to Import / Export Dolby Atmos ADM files in faster than real-time. You no longer have to bounce your mix in real-time to Dolby ADM (Audio Definition Model), you can now export you Mix with all their Groups, Associated Bed, and Objects embedded directly in the file.
