All software has Easter Eggs, or hidden features and Pro Tools is no different. As one user recently discovered, you can use Emojis in the naming of your tracks. Although the feature is only available on Macintosh, it allows you to have more personalized control over your session, files, and organization.
HOW TO USE EMOJIS IN PRO TOOLS SESSIONS
Working remotely has allowed people the chance to discover new things, as well as explore in detail the things they are familiar with. One recent Pro Tools user discovered that it's possible to use emojis in the naming of Tracks and Files. This feature can only be made to work on a Macintosh as of now, so if anyone out there can figure out how to make it work on a PC, you'll be an internet celebrity. ????
As will all good things, there is a caveat. You can't type out the names in Pro Tools directly, you have to use another Text application to type out the words/emojis, and then copy/paste it to your Pro Tools track names, or file names.
Control + Command + Space Bar
a) Open an Text Editor (such as Notes, Pages, Word, Email, etc...
b) Press: control + command + space bar
c) The emoji pop-up window will appear, allowing you to select an emoji.
d) Once you are finished, select the name, then copy and paste it to your Pro Tools track or file name
