Our good friends at Neumann have another winner on their hands with the new TLM 107 Microphone. It recently won a Best of Show Award at the 2013 AES Convention.
The mic incorporates a newly developed sound transducer which is edge terminated with both diaphragms at ground voltage and an acoustically optimized grille to deal with the “pop” from plosives. It has 5 polar pick-up patterns: Omni, Cardioid, Figure-8, Wide-Angle Cardioid, Hypercardioid, and can accommodate up to 153dB SPL! This means it can be used to get great Vocals as well as screaming Guitar Cabinets. As always, these mic’s are built in Germany, in the same factory all of your other favorite Neumann mic’s were made.
We at ProMedia, Pro Tools Training, are thankful to have the support of Neumann/Sennheiser. All of us use these wonderful products on a daily basis in our production and music work, and are also incorporated in our training facilities. My personal Neumann is 50+ years old.
