LATEST POSTS FROM OUR BLOG

Sept 15, 2023: Avid has just announced exciting new features coming soon to Pro Tools: Built-In Noise Reduction with iZotope RX, and the integration of Dolby Atmos Renderer. There are also new features providing deeper interoperability between Media Composer (video editor) and Pro Tools, as well as showing off the new MTRX II audio interface. Let's take a look at what you can expect in the near future.

Several months after exploring its options, Avid Technology was sold to a tech focused private equity firm, STG for $1.4 billion. The good news is critics can finally squash flying rumors that a competitor like Apple is buying it. The newly purchased company is going to be held privately once more, allowing it to NOT have to operate based on appeasing shareholders’ demands. This is great news for Pro Tools Users and again reinforces that Pro Tools is the standard in the industry for commercial recording, editing and mixing.

Audio engineers often use Parallel Compression when mixing Rock and Pop songs. However it's a tool we can use when we’re tracking, mixing, and even in production. Whether it be used digitally in our DAW or Analog, Parallel Compression can help us add some oomph and presence to our initial recording and mixes while still maintaining the dynamics of the original recording. I use parallel compression when tracking in Production frequently. It's very useful to bring things forward in the mix and help tracks cut through.
